The terms on the motherboard

The terms on the motherboard

The terms contained in the motherboard are as follows:

1. BIOS (Basic Input / Output System). Is a collection of information on the motherboard and also the software that contains the basic commands. Its main function is as a means of communication between the operating system with hardware that is installed on the motherboard.

2. Bus is the term used to express the data flow system that used hardware that is installed on the motherboard to communicate with the processor. Units used are usually in the form of frequency (Hertz) or width bits of data.

3. Clock Speed is a term used to express the speed of a processor or other components.Figures obtained by multiply the clock speed multiplier to the FSB. The higher clock speed, the higher the performance is also generated by the processor or hardware component. Units used are usually megahertz (MHz) or gigahertz (GHz). Usually referred to also as external speed of a processor.

4. FSB (Front Side Bus) is the main bus connecting the processor to the motherboard chipset. The unit used is megahertz (MHz).

5. Heatsink component is placed on the processor. And serves to absorb heat generated when the processor works. Typically a heatsink equipped with a fan to keep the processor temperature remains stable.

6. Overclocking is a technique that is done to improve processor performance, memory, graphics card or by increasing the FSB or clock speed component. This technique requires a special cooling system components, because it produces excessive heat, where this excess heat can reduce kenerja computer and can even damage the computer system.
